KATHERINE WHITEHEAD (nee TYMCHUK) After a life well lived, and her children by her side, Katherine passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the age of 81. Mom is reunited with her loving husband Allan who died July 15, 1987. Mom will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children John, Debbie, and Bill, daughter-in-law Kelly, and only granddaughter Brooke (Katherine). Mom was born May 22, 1924. She lived in Winnipeg most of her life where she was married on May 26, 1951. Mom loved her pets over the years as well as gardening and doing her flea markets, where she collected her many, many treasures. Mom was kind and generous to all who knew her. Mom enjoyed many summers at Winnipeg Beach where she played bingo and just relaxed. Mom will be tremendously missed and always in our hearts. The family would like to thank the McIntyre and Loszchuk families for all their help over the years. A special thanks to Gary and Audrey for their support. A sincere thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home (2 East) with special thanks to Dorrie who sang my mom's troubles away; also, thanks to staff members Lee, Carmalita, Sabina and Linda - thanks for comforting mom in her difficult times. In lieu of flowers, in Katherine's memory, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 18, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home.
