SEIJI NISHIZEKI Seiji Nishizeki peacefully passed away at home on August 26, 2005. He was predeceased by his wife, Misao in 1961 and son, Kiyoshi in 1987. Dad is survived by his children, Miyoko (Joe) Okano, Tamiko (Bob) Yamashita, Victor (Julie) Nishizeki, Gloria (Peter) Vause; grandchildren, Kim (Tom), Kyle (Shelley), Chris (Tami), Cory (Aynsley), Sherri (Stew), Ryan, Tricia (David) and Tannys; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew. He was born in Shiga-Ken, Japan on January 30, 1912, and immigrated to Canada in 1939. In 1954 dad moved his family to Winnipeg where he was employed as a carpenter until his retirement. Dad was a member of the Manitoba Buddhist Church and the Hoyu-Kai where he spent many pleasurable hours playing cards and bingo and he enjoyed his Friday bowling with the JCCA Bowling League. He also loved gardening, reading and spending countless hours at the Centennial Library. The family wishes to thank Homecare Workers, Anna and Evelyn for their kindness over the past few months. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30 at the Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Ave., with Rev. Fredrich Ulrich officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in dad's memory to the Manitoba Buddhist Church or the Respiratory Education and Research Unit, St Boniface Hospital, in care of Dr. S. Sharma.
