ADOLPH WALTER FLATT 1910 - 2005 Dad passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour at St. Boniface Hospital on August 31, 2005. He was born in Grass River, MB on February 6, 1910 and grew up on the family farm. He married Annie Heidt on October 2, 1938. They set up farming on their homestead at Glenella by constructing their home and buildings from logs cut in the bush on the farm. They lived on their farm until moving to Neepawa in 1965 and then managed the Husky Service Station on the outskirts of Neepawa for four years. Dad was then employed by East View Lodge as an Orderly and worked there until his retirement. He viewed his job at East View Lodge as an opportunity to help others. Dad and Mom moved to Winnipeg in October of 2001 and moved into Lindenwood Manor in the fall of 2002. Dad loved sports and in his senior years, loved to watch sports on TV, especially his favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Crossword puzzles occupied a lot of his spare time and he didn't venture too far without a crossword puzzle book in his pocket. He was always a ready and willing player for any game, but his favourite was Dirty Marbles which he played with great passion. His hooked rugs are his masterpieces and works of love. He will be missed by his wife Annie of 66 years; their daughter Addie and her husband Douglas and their children, Heather and husband Roland and son Ryland; Ryan and his wife Kamila; and Lauren. He is also survived by one brother Otto and two sisters, Helen and Christina. He was predeceased by his parents and 13 siblings. In honour of Dad's wishes, immediate cremation has taken place with no service to follow. There will be a come and go reception on Wednesday, September 7 at Lindenwood Manor, 475 Lindenwood Dr. E. in the Friendship Room from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Dad wishes for friends and family to make donation to the Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
